From Nick's dad Gary comes the below message. Other than being a lousey person to draft behind, Nick seems to be a well grounded kid who deserves some support. I pledge one dollar for every minute I finish behind Nick at each of the next few Tuesday Canal rides. True, this could end up costing me hundreds, maybe thousands but it is for a good cause.... wait, on second thought, I retract that pledge but will make a donation. See what you can do to help too.
Nicholas is going to Madison Wi. Over the 4th of July to do two Jr. National Championship races. Road race on the 5th and a Crit. On the 7th. We have to get there a couple of days before so he can pre ride the courses. Nick will be racing against other 15-16 years from across the country. I'm sending this out to ask if anyone would like to donate to help with travel and lodging. We will use the money only for the trip.

Since I'm unable to ride and thus won't be spending money on gasoline and food for my biking passion for a few weeks, I would be happy to donate some of those funds for someone to have a great trip and experience! But I can't travel right now, so is there somewhere I can send a check? Good luck and we expect lots of pictures!

GP, are you kidding? The exposure I am giving would cost someone tens of thousands of dollars so that is my contribution. No really, I'll gather up change out of the sofa and under the car seat and make an extrordinary donation, an amount of which you can only dream.
