I was unable to make it to the Tuesday ride. Well, that's not entirely true, I could have made it but it's a long drive to ride in 90 degree heat on a monster hilly route so I decided to cut down some trees that have been killed by the Emerald Ash Borer.......bastards!!!!!!! Anyway, the ink stained wretch, Amanda Orr, sent in this report: Some liked my hills, and some didn't. I thought it was a pretty route. Rode with the Rossi tandem, Kevin, Mike, Mitch and a guy on a Fuji. Ok, while it lacks quantity, the quality is there as a ride report. Steve O said he would send me images and he sent this: (Imagine Picture Here) . OK, so his images lack both quality and quantity. So, here is my landscaping problem. At this time of the year, these tree limbs are supposed to have leaves. Removing the bark shows the problem. The Borer's babies love to encircle the tree inside the bark layer, gorging themselves and destroying the tree's ability to bring moisture from the ground. Bayer has a solution that may work and I've applied it to a few trees but won't know until next year if it is doing any good. Meantime, I've downed 10-12 trees and in the next year, will probably have 40-50 more to cut down. Sad. But Wait---I'm going to check out the Westerville ride.

uhm, in my defense, if I'd known I was supposed to write a report, in addition to having maps and a sign in sheet, I would have, LOL. I'd like to add that only a handful of A riders went out, Donn again noted my lack of clipboardness, and there was a VERY large group of B riders, who of course broke into several smaller groups after the first 5-10 miles of the route. Also in my defense, some of you actually liked those hills!! Oh and one final note, Cedar Hill is rideable again. It seems the cars have been doing a good job of packing in the chip and seal.
