Thursday Ride Report--Yet Another Stare

Our meteorologist on the right, spent most of the pre-ride time strutting around like a peacock because like a blind squirrel, he found an acorn.  Ha, ha.  Actually, he nailed the forecast better than any area forecasters did.  Good job buddy!

Sooo, I walk into an Italian eatery, Palumbos in Granville to pick up dinner for this evening.  They are giving away cases of beer.  Naturally, I accept and the first person I see who looks like a beer drinker, I give the case to him, Decent Dan.

A ringer?  No, just a guy who headed out with the C group.  Steve H was absent as C ride group leader but Jim R filled in.

Out of habit, Jon, Mick, Craig, Paul and Drew gather in the shady spot even though it was cool with a very thick cloud cover.  That it did not rain this evening is kind of remarkable.

The Rivets had only 4 so they went with the A group, comprised of around 15 people.  Too few cyclists to form two B groups so about 20 of us head out.

Thresher Street thrashed us as usual and then we regrouped at the bottom of Ebaugh Drive in the Denison campus. Peggy on the left, Ron Budzig on the right.  Really good group of folks that are a major reason why our rides are fun.

Then it got a little odd.  I was unjustifiably blamed for giving Jay P a stare when I went around him on a climb last week.  So, this evening, he gave me a prolonged stare while descending Battee Road.  That is a first.  We finished with a 20mph average while the Rivets, pulling away from the A group on Cable Road, finished with a 22.5 average and the A group finished at 21.3mph average. Saturday ride option coming soon!

On the drive home, I saw a calf outside a fence.  Another driver had stopped to try to contact the farmer who owned the property and cows.  Would not want to hit that with the front of my car.

Wow! Look at that Thursday forecast....78 degrees and cloud cover so just wow, what a great day for a ride. Pay no attention to the doom and gloomers who note there will also be rain. Also worthy of a "wow" is we now have 500+ members to our Facebook group. The routes for our 45, 39 & 31 mile rides are below.
