Saturday Winds--UPDATE DOS

3/1/2012

I sent an email to Dave Miller asking for confirmation that the ride out of Canal is still on but it's kind of late so he may not see it.  Judging by traffic to this site either 500+ people are interested in the Kenda abuse I took today or looking for information about the ride.  I'll update in the morning if I learn anything and if you were here to read about the Kenda chatter allow me to reiterate that the Kendaites rule over this lowly cyclist.

Now looks like 25-35mph winds with gusts to 40mph for Saturday.  I talked to Steve O and he said he was going to ride anyway and to think of the tailwind.  Hope Dave Miller comes up with a route to make it so.  Talked to Mark C and he may go trail running out of Old Man's Cave, whose trails tend to dry out better than others.  I'll be making a game day decision but leaning towards riding.

Well, looks like Saturday will be very windy, with strengthening winds out of the SW.  David Miller has a ride out of Cyclist Connection, Canal Winchester, at 9:00am with the route to be determined by wind direction so probably going to Laurelville and back for 60+ miles.  That sounds good.  My goal is to show up at whatever group has the largest turnout to maximize drafting opportunity.  Must say the Facebook New Albany Training group is a bit of a bust. Must be one of those groups one joins but no one actively participates or most are warm weather cyclists yet to make an appearance on the road.

I'll buy the person's lunch who gutters mark into the wind! I'll be out of state this weekend.

Grand Poohbah,
As a fellow Kenda rider, by your command I'll make sure it happens. I'll do it on a nasty cross-wind section to make sure it weakens his @*%$# legs prior to turning into a head wind at which point I will start a yo-yo effect to further weaken his @*%$# legs and spirit.....I will have him on the rivet, he will pop for sure!

I can't think of a single Kenda rider who could not do the above to me with or without a cross wind. No big deal.

I can think of several that can do it. What about Stefano, Mario, CT, Blair, Scott, Farmer Mike, Bob Sweeting, Chad Hartely, Luca Damiani, Nathan English just to name a few....shall I go on?

Big Wind,
I beg to differ in that Secret Kenda rider is from out of state. As a loyal Kenda fan I have seen the sheer strength and will of the Kenda riders. I would bet Kenda Janet could easily put Mark W. in the gutter and under pressure.

I don't understand the issue here. I have already said that every Kenda cyclist could put me into the gutter although it's been awhile since Farmer Mike has done it but no doubt he could now as he is in FL training and I am in OH getting fat. All hail Kendaites, the rulers of my cycling world!!!!!!!

Absolutely the ride is on! 35 and 50 mile routes to Ashville to try and take advantage of the winds on the way back.

Sounds like an Ashville start is the way to go!
