I have some big news, really big news. You know I have longed to be part of a group rather than an independent pilgrim wondering the cycling wilderness. I begged and subjected myself to humiliation (required to apply chamois butter to Grand Poobah and other Kendaites, filling water bottles, escorting Kendaites on short cuts, etc...) for much of this year only to be voted down, 5-0 (Kenda Janet says she abstained from the vote) and not given final membership with the Kendas.
Recently, I learned of a group called "Saturday New Albany Training Ride" and applied for membership. Finally, after 6 hours, I received an email and was accepted!!!! Don't even think about trying to join this group as it is for the elite of the elite, the most popular of the populous central Ohio cycling scene. Some how, Kenda Janet is a member but I later found out they needed a mascot so that explains that. On the other hand, I can think of a couple of you who may qualify so do a Facebook search for "Saturday New Albany Training Ride" and see if you can get in. On to more important business. As some of you know, Flyin Tuna and I host the COP Blue Jay ride, a brutal route to Zanesville that takes in tough climbs out Blue Jay, then on to other even more difficult climbs before stopping at a market in Z-ville for the return. My responsibilities are many, marking the route, making map copies, promoting the event, etc... Tuna shows up at the parking lot and signs people in. Most years. the ride is scheduled for twice, in June and August. Last year it was held only once. Tuna wants to schedule it twice while I, who does the lion's share of the work, want to do it once. Tuna wanted me to put it to the cycling community for a vote. I told her people are not going to bother to comment on something so insignificant but if you care to comment, your votes will decide the outcome, once or twice for the Blue Jay ride in 2012?

Make Cindy work more. She gets too much attention anyway. I'm younger, more attractive and faster.

As the ride co-ordinator for COP, I think it selfish that Cindy would want 2 dates for the Blue Jay ride. Having two dates for the same ride meets our guidelines but with so many folks lining up to lead a roving ride, I think it terribly selfish of Cindy to want 2 Saturdays for the same ride. Just my opinion.

I would never claim to be faster than Cindy (see the NYE ride report, she was ahead of me the entire time) so the REAL Corvair votes for two Blue Jay rides. I will be happy to help out with August if she needs help signing people in. :) Donna, I believe the Blue Jay ride 2nd date in August was unofficial. But again, I'll be happy to help.

The August Blue Jay was always an official COP Roving Ride. There were always 2 official Blue Jays a year (June & Aug) until last year.

Ohhhhhh, that's interesting. You say Cindy is faster but what about the part about younger and prettier? I did not notice you addressed those two other issues..... Yeah, signing people in is exhausting.

Ok fine...Cindy is older than me, that's just a fact so how is that an issue? huh? As far as prettier, I would say we are both attractive women. However, she got into the "women of Thursday night" and I did not so not sure what that means.

I have reconsidered. Cindy is ancient compared to me and I can not tell a lie, I am much, much prettier and probably quite a bit lighter. Remember when she got the lady wheels and broke half the spokes? Look at the wheels she is riding now, reinforced ones thats what!

I don't like to witness cat fights on the blog. Prefer the real thing in a parking lot. Now that would be fun to watch.

I like that you guys stop at my market but remember, you can't use my rest rooms so don't ask! I prefer at least two rides and ok with me if you do the route more then that but no rest room use, no matter what.

I vote for 2. I'm always out of town for the second one, but just in case. That way we don't end up with a fairy ride to stoutsville.

Well, I can see that Mark is already bored with winter; he writes under so many other people's names that when he's in the old folks home looking at them, a couple years from now, he will surely forget that he wrote all of them. When you count the hits this blog gets, do you count all the times that you visit in the day? That must be at least 50....

Shame on you Cindy for passing along misinformation, myth, fabrications and just outright falsehoods. My posts are clearly identified by the background difference. You're just angry because Amanda said you need rebar reinforced wheels on your bike. Don't take your anger out on me tubby.

Kenda Dave - take note on what weekend you schedule in Aug.!

I vote for 2 rides. It's one of my favorite rides. Like "Jersey Girl" Kenda Janet said, we Kendiates like to have fun...short cutting it or not....wink...wink...nudge...nudge. Just don't schedule the weekend of 8/11 & 8/12, that's Pelotonia weekend!!

Two Blue Jays please!

I vote for two as was done in the early years of Blue Jay. The late August Blue Jay was intended as a CFC tune up. How about the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend? Nobody has selected that date for a Roving Ride yet.
